Taiwan Week at the 25th Prague Fringe

Why Taiwan Matters on Our Stages. This isn’t just a guest programme. It’s an invitation - to discover a place, a culture, and a group of artists through live performance, up close and personal.

At Prague Fringe, we’ve always believed theatre is one of the easiest ways to connect - across languages, borders, and very different lived experiences. You don’t always need to understand every word to feel something. That’s the magic of it.

So we’re especially excited to welcome Taiwan Week to the 25th Prague Fringe.

This isn’t just a guest programme. It’s an invitation - to discover a place, a culture, and a group of artists through live performance, up close and personal.

We’ve had the pleasure of hosting Taiwanese artists before, and their work really stays with you. There’s something special in the mix - precision and vulnerability, bold ideas and real emotional honesty. The work is often visually striking, sometimes surprising, but always grounded in human connection. And audiences feel that straight away.

This year, Taiwan Week brings together three very different shows. Each has its own style, its own voice, its own world - but together they offer a small window into the richness and diversity of contemporary Taiwan.

For many people in Europe, Taiwan is something you hear about in the news. But culture tells a different story. Through theatre, movement, humour, memory, and risk, you get something deeper - a sense of a society that’s creative, open, and very much alive.

We’re hugely grateful to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Prague for making this collaboration possible, and for sharing our belief that international artistic exchange really matters.
